Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The Marias song, Back to Me, is a reference to this movie so it was obvious that I really had to watch it. I knew I already needed to but the song pushed me even more. I think I might have to add this to the list of my favorite movies, I truly loved it. The protagonists, Clementine and Joel, are a couple with an awful fate. A bad breakup leads Clementine to undergo a procedure that erases any memory of whoever she wants to, in this case it was Joel. And it goes vice versa once Joel found out what Clementine had done. I'd always wondered if I would be able to wipe my memory if the chance had ever occurred. I always came to the same conclusion- that I couldn't. And I think I stick with that answer. I'd be stuck in Montauk even if the memories haunted my every step. I'd be as Joel was trying to find the deepest parts of my brain to hide in. I give this film 5/5 stars
