Mustang

Much like the Virgin Suicides, in Mustang we get a glimpse into the lives of five sisters living in the conservative village of north-central Turkey. The girls range from age 11-17, they are young and it's very obvious they like to have innocent fun. This sort of fun is not known around the village and a rumor quickly goes around implying the girls were getting to be familiar with some boys. This leads to an isolation implemented by the guardians of the girls. All five of them were cut off from the outside world and began to prepare for their arranged marriages, which started with the eldest. I think she was the only one who wanted to be truthfully married. As we watch each sister's story and each of them separate from one another, how each of them held on to each other in their bedroom, you see the loss of an innocent childhood.
