This Film tells the true story of Eunice and Rubens Paiva and what their family dealt with during the Brazilian military dictatorship in the early 1970s. To start, I really loved how this film captured the raw love that the family held for each other. I especially loved the scene where the family sits, all cuddled, and plays a film projection of the older sisters' videos from America, while the Rubens reads her letter aloud. Seeing how close they were molded together really made you feel the amount of panic and confusion that was there when suddenly Rubens disappeared. This was pretty common during this time, it was all a part of the military's regime. Which is why I hope this movie gets more traction because we see Eunice continue to fight for the truth whilst being left with nothing but blank pages and we see her get justice.
