Forgive me.

I have been selfish. I took what you have offered me and grabbed it as fast as I could, before you could catch a breath to say you ever would.. I ate the last pomegranate ripping apart its skin as if it were my own and I dug my hand in the pit, scraping off all the seeds throwing them carelessly into my mouth, letting it drip from the holes of my teeth.I stand barefoot in a puddle of  juice stepping on all of your toes, leaving my splotchy red stains all over your clothes. I smile at this mess I have made and you look at me in a saddened rage. I drag my finger across the floor, creating a line between us both that I thought would go away when I wiped the boards.

I have been selfish, haven't I?
